Annie is a 30 year old lady who is 27 weeks pregnant. She attends the GP as she has been having increased urinary frequency and dysuria for the last 2 days. There is no bleeding or abdominal pain and foetal movements are normal. Past medical history is nil of note and she has no known drug allergies. Urine dipstick today shows 2+ leucocytes and you send off the urine for culture. Her observations and examination are normal.
