A 28 year old woman has been admitted to the acute medical unit with abdominal pain and bloody diarrhoea. Following investigations, she has been diagnosed as having a first flare of Crohn’s disease. She is haemodynamically stable, but her symptoms are ongoing. She has no significant past medical history and takes no medications.
