PLAB02-105

Tommy is 12 weeks old and is brought into the GP by his worried mother. He was born at term by normal vaginal delivery. He is fully bottle fed and she is concerned that he is bringing a lot of his milk back up after most feeds. It usually happens within 5 minutes of a feed and he appears upset. The health visitor was not worried as he is gaining weight along his 75th centile and current weight is 6kg.

There is no history of rash and his bowels are opening as normal. He is taking 150ml per feed over 10 minutes 6 times per day. You explain to his mother that you suspect this is reflux.

Which of the following management options is the most appropriate at this stage?
