A 35 year old female presents to the GP with sudden onset palpitations associated with dizziness in the past 6 hours. She denies any chest pain, shortness of breath or syncope. Two days ago she was diagnosed with a chest infection and was prescribed antibiotics.
On examination, she has an irregularly irregular pulse rate of 120bpm, blood pressure is 110/62, heart sounds are normal and there are no signs of decompensated heart failure.
