Joan is a 60 year old female who presents to the GP with blurred vision. Over the last few weeks she has noticed that she finds it difficult to focus on images as the central areas become ‘foggy’, and in addition lines appear curved. She denies any pain or redness and is otherwise well in herself. She has COPD, Iron deficiency anaemia and Hypertension.

On examination, there is no conjunctival injection, pupils are equal and reactive to light and eye movements are normal. Fundoscopy does not identify any obvious problem.

Given the likely diagnosis what is the most appropriate next step?
