Jasmine is 35 years old and is 30 weeks pregnant with her first child. She gives a 5 hour history of upper abdominal pain and nausea. She denies any diarrhoea or vomiting and has no vaginal bleeding. Foetal movements are normal. Vital observations are unremarkable except for her blood pressure 157/84 mmHg. Urine dipstick reveals proteinuria. You note that the results of the full blood count taken by the midwife earlier in the week due to tiredness complaint shows thrombocytopenia.
