Baxter is a three year old boy that you saw six days ago with presumed bacterial conjunctivitis and advised self-care measures. Baxter has been brought back by his mother today as she is concerned his eyes are still red and discharging. Baxter’s mum reports that he is otherwise well in himself. Examination does not show any significant change from your initial assessment (bilateral conjunctival injection with some crusting on the eye lashes). Baxter has no significant medical history, he was born at term, normal vaginal delivery and is up to date with immunisations.

Based on the likely diagnosis, what is the most appropriate treatment?
