A 25 year old female who is 8 weeks pregnant presents to the GP surgery complaining of debilitating nausea and vomiting. She is finding it increasingly more difficult to tolerate food but is managing sips of fluids during the day. She is passing urine well but is vomiting up to 7 times in the day. She denies any urinary symptoms, abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Small meals, ginger biscuits and avoiding triggers have not helped alleviate her symptoms.
On examination, she is alert and apyrexial. Her blood pressure is 106/59 and pulse rate is 92bpm. Urine dip shows 3+ ketones but nothing else.
Given her history what would be the best management option?
