The AKT (Applied Knowledge Test) is one of the three components of the MRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners) postgraduate medical qualification. It is a vital part of GP training in the UK, testing problem solving and the application of knowledge.
This intensive exam contains 200 questions and lasts 3 hours and 10 minutes. You’ll find a range of resources to choose from including online courses and our All-in-One AKT Ultimate Package which includes live courses, 3 full online courses, 3 audiobooks, multiple mock exams, high-yield flashcards to support your preparation for the AKT.
The SCA (Simulated Consultation Assessment) is one of the three components of the MRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners) postgraduate medical qualification. Through a live online role-play assessment, professionals will be tested on different aspects of General Practice including clinical, practical, professional skills, and communication.
The assessment itself involves 12 back-to-back role-play consultations between the GP trainee and trained role-players. The format of these consultations can include telephone call or video consultations – taken virtually from a GP Practice. For the complete learning package, our All-in-one SCA Ultimate Package features a full online course, mock SCA exam, online case bank, flashcards, and 3x audiobook courses to enhance your learning and preparation.
The Multi-Specialty Recruitment Assessment (MSRA) is a computer-based assessment and is part of the application for postgraduate medical specialty training in the UK. You are required to score well in the MRSA exam if you are applying for training programmes such as General Practice, Psychiatry, Radiology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology and several others.
Consisting of two question papers, the MSRA is made up of a 75-minute clinical questions paper and a 95-minute professional dilemma questions paper. You’ll find many resources to support your completion of these question papers here at Arora Medical Education, and the All-in-One MSRA Ultimate Package contains everything you need to ace your exam.
Doctors who qualified from overseas medical schools are required to take the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) exam. You will need to pass the PLAB exam before you can practice in the UK if you qualified outside of the EEA as a doctor.
The PLAB is made up of two texts: PLAB 1 and PLAB 2. This test will be replaced at some point in 2024 by the UKMLA exam.
PLAB 1 is a written paper, which tests your clinical knowledge and has 180 multiple choice questions. The test takes 180 minutes. One of the benefits of the PLAB 1 exam is that it can be taken in multiple countries, including the UK. Our most comprehensive package for PLAB 1 is our PLAB 1 Ultimate Package.
PLAB 2 is an OSCE-based assessment. You’ll have 8 minutes to demonstrate your skills, with up to 16 stations as part of the assessment. Each station will have a different task to complete to demonstrate your knowledge of caring for patients. These could include examinations on mannequins or breaking bad news to a patient. Our most comprehensive package for PLAB 2 is our PLAB 2 Academy+ Package.
The UKMLA (UK Medical Licencing Assessment) will replace PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board) exam in 2024. This is an essential assessment for any overseas doctors wishing to practice medicine in the UK from 2024 onwards. It will be necessary for GMC registration.
The assessment will be comprised of two parts, an Applied Knowledge Assessment (AKT) and a Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA). The AKT will feature 150 to 200 multiple-choice questions. The CPSA tests medical students on professional and clinical skills.
Medical students will find that revision courses provide the necessary support they need to fly through medical school finals. With packages including digital flashcards, and audiobooks, you’ll boost your confidence and knowledge while improving your technique.
We offer multiple resources as well as the Medical School All-in-One Package, which includes audiobooks and flashcards to support your learning and revision. You can revise your way with flexible courses and resources.
